Greenland , Feb 25
Exploring the land that has 50 different words for snow and ice. Where dog sleds often are the only means of transportation to get food on the table. A land where fishing and hunting remain the predominant way of survival. And where whale skin rather than fruit or vegetables are a main source of vitamin.
Greenland is one of the last truly wild and remote places. A White Desert of unspeakable beauty, that is changing fast - so worth to be discovered now.

I fell in love once more after my 2nd visit to Japan a few months ago. The unique combination of an incredible cultural richness, vast natural beauty, the healthiest fresh food, Tokyo, its vibrant Capital City, and unrivaled Powder for snow adventures in wintery Niseko, the Vail of the East, make Japan a spectacular year round destination.

There is so much on offer in Australia that it’s easy to get lost or overwhelmed trying to see it all. Exploring fewer regions properly is the key to any visit Down Under. This time around my focus lay on beautifully wild Tasmania and stunningly diverse South Australia. Easy to combine without the fatigue of constant transfers and flightsLess ground covered, and more discovered.

There is so much more to this amazing country than the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu: Culinary adventures in some of the World’s top restaurants, Lake Titikaka, our planet’s highest navigable body of water, uncharted pre-hispanic trails in the High Andes, and the stunning Amazon ecosystem, to surfing the World’s longest wave will leave any adventurer speechless.

…and billions of people are suffering from pollution, climate change, war, hunger, disease. In these times of crisis, what can and must be the role of travel?
Carbon emissions are only part of the equation. And there is no single good answer to this multi-faceted issue. But we should and will keep traveling, doing so in a respect- and purposeful way. Why?
Tourism is an industry with a huge impact - the biggest employer on Earth. We have to be part of the solution to the problems our World is facing. Our aim at PUREWILD is to make this impact tangible and inviting with each journey we design and stage.
The global Adventure Travel family is on a good path, with encouraging conservation and community initiatives in place or under way - from local micro projects to regional multi million dollar initiatives.
Done right, Adventure Travel clearly is a Force for Good. Without it, without us traveling in a respect- and meaningful way, we risk to leave our last intact and vital ecosystems to poachers and lumberjacks. Local communities deprived of income, to resort to killing wildlife to feed their families. And left without resources to educate their children, our biggest hope for a sustainable future.
